Julia Barretto, Ronnie Alonte and Joshua Garcia confirm additional character on upcoming movie.
For the first time since joining show business, Julia Barretto, Ronnie Alonte and Joshua Garcia have landed headline roles through the big screen project titled Vince and Kath and James.
Their upcoming movie is inspired by the hit socialserye titled “Vince and Kath,” which followed the story of a high school couple who are fond of expressing their affection to one another by exchanging mobile messages
.Joshua will be playing the role of Vince and Julia will be taking on the role of Kath.
“Hindi naman nagkakalayo ang character ko dito sa character ko sa Barcelona [A Love Untold]. Kaya lang dito, kaya ako nagpapatawa para matakpan kung ano man ang nararamdaman ko,” shared Joshua.
Ronnie meanwhile will be taking on the role of James, Vince’s cousin who would seek his help to woo Kath.
“Additional si James dito so ang laking pasasalamat ko na ako ang pinili,” shared Ronnie.
Despite the additional character, Julia assures fans of the socialserye that they would remain faithful to the original “Vince and Kath” story.
“Nandoon ang kilig. Nandoon ang texting. Walang nawala. Nadagdagan pa lalo like ['yung character ni James] and nadagdagan din ng emotions, ng lalim, ng puso,” she explained.
Joshua attests to this saying, “Tsaka dito mas ramdam na kasi kapag sa libro nababasa mo lang eh, dito mas napapanood na mismo sa sinehan.”
The three confess that they are praying for a positive response to their film along with the crew and staff. But then they are well aware that having a good rapport would greatly help their film and improve the chances of it being “accepted” by the moviegoers.
“For how many years naman since I entered the business, marami na akong nakakapareho. Pero I think what’s important, if you want to build chemistry with the person that you are being paired up with, best foundation talaga is friendship,” shared Julia about how they built the rapport off-cam.
She continued, “I’m glad that I found friends in both Ronnie and Joshua. I’ve been really comfortable with them sa set. I think doon talaga nagsisimula, kapag komportable kayo sa isa’t isa. Nakikita kasi sa screen 'yun eh.”
While they have yet to reveal a specific play date, the three revealed that they are already halfway through the Theodore Boborol film and that it is coming out this year.
