#BagyongGlenda No classes Tuesday in Several Areas in NCR, Cavite and Bicol.

Classes on Tuesday (July 15) in several cities in Metro Manila, in Cavite and in two provinces in the Bicol region have been cancelled as Tropical Storm Glenda (Rammasun) entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

According to the state weather bureau, PAGASA, Glenda is expected to make a landfall on Bicol Tuesday morning and head to the National Capital Region (NCR), including Metro Manila before leaving the PAR on July 17, Thursday.

The list below uses information from the Department of Education Twitter account, the Philippine Information Agency Facebook page and the Twitter acounts of several mayors.

It will be updated every time new information comes in.

Bicol Region

Camarines Sur (all levels, public and private)

Albay (all levels, public and private)

Metro Manila

Pateros (all levels, public and private)

Muntinlupa (preschool to high school, public and private)

Valenzuela City (preschool, kindergarten and daycare, public and private)

Marikina (preschool to highschool, public and private)

Makati City (preschool to highschool, public and private)

Quezon City (preschool to highschool, public and private)

Las Piñas (preschool to elementary, public and private

Manila (preschool to elementary, public and private)

Mandaluyong (preschool to highschool, public and private)

Caloocan City (preschool to highschool, public and private)

Near NCR

Malolos, Bulacan (preschool and elementary, public and private)

Balagtas, Bulacan (preschool and elementary, public and private)

Antipolo City (preschool, public and private)

Cavite

In a post on his Twitter account, Cavite Gov. Johnvic Remulla also announced the suspension of classes from preschool to high school for both public and private schools on Tuesday.

According to DepEd guidelines, classes are automatically suspended for the following levels and storm signals:

Signal No. 1 - preschool

Signal No. 2 - preschool, elementary and high school

Signal No. 3 - all levels (preschool, elementary, high school and college, including graduate school)

The DepEd also reminded the local government units (LGUs) that they have the authority to declare local suspensions in areas where there is no storm signal.
