Presidential Candidate 'Mar Roxas' Leads Pre-Election Presidential Survey.

Presidential Candidate Mar Roxas is taking the lead in the latest non-commisioned pre-election presidential survey conducted by D’ Strafford Research & Strategies Inc. on May 2, 2016.

Using face-to face interviews among 4,500 registered voters and a sampling error margin of 1.2 percent, D’ Strafford survey and its results are highly accurate. With its respondents distribution being proportionate to the voter’s regional population, 520 for NCR; 1044 for Mindanao; 1998 for Luzon; 938 for Visayas; the population’s variation is high in balance and precision.

Aside from this, every respondent was given equal screening time, assuring that not one of them is affiliated to any political group. Remaining apolitical was one of the priorities for the survey, ensuring that they are not related to any candidate or government and media office.

Former DILG Secretary Mar Roxas was chosen by 27.8 per cent of the 4,500 participants, who were interviewed from April 25 up to April 29. He is followed by a tie between Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Sen. Grace Poe with 25.4 and 23.6 percent.

Next in line is Vice President Jejomar Binay who gained 16.6 percent of the chosen population while Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago is at the last spot with 2.7 percent.

Roxas received nothing but praises and compliments after his performance during the last leg of the presidential debate, giving him the edge to earn the top spot.

Duterte, after his behaviour and remarks throughout debate, got a lot of negative comments from the 4,500 respondents. They saw his indecisiveness a reason for them to shift to another presidential bet, namely Roxas and Poe.

Those who are still undecided in their presidential bets have a high effect on the results of the election with 3 percent. Meanwhile, there is a variation in the preferred presidential candidate among the places included in the survey, most of which are among Duterte, Poe, and Roxas.

“Kung ang eleksyon ay gaganapin ngayon, sino ang pinakamalamang ninyong iboboto bilang presidente,” was the voting preference question of the survey.

The answer of the majority was in favor of Rep. Leni Robredo who was voted for by 34 percent of the population. She has a 6 percent advantage from Senator Ferdinand Marcos who gained 28 per cent. Ths is followed by Sen. Chiz Escudero with 18 per cent, Sen. Alan Cayetano with 16 per cent, Sen. Antonio Trillanes with 2 per cent, and Sen. Gregorio Honasan with 1 per cent.

With the May 2016 elections just a week away, the voters who are undecided have enough time to do enough research on the presidential candidates. Each vote will count as it could change the direction of the upcoming national election results
