Congratulations to Miss Philippines Hillarie Parungao for entering the Top 10 of Miss World 2015.

Nueva Vizcaya native Hillarie Danielle Parungao failed to bring home the 2015 Miss World crown after she finished inside the top 10 of the pageant held at the Beauty Crown Grand Theatre in Sanya, China.

This year's Miss World is Spain's Mireia Lalaguna Royo, with Russia's Sofia Nikitchuk and Indonesia's Maria Harfanti placing second and third, respectively. Completing the top five are Lebanon's Valerie Abou Chacra, and Jamaica's Sanneta Myrie.

Parungao won the Multimedia Award and joined Miss Namibia (Sports), and Miss Guyana (Talent) as one of the winners of the pageant's various challenges before the coronation night.

This is Spain's first win the pageant's 64-year history. Venezuela holds the record for most titles with six. The Philippines took home its first crown in 2013 when Filipina model Megan Young won the title.

A nursing graduate, Parungao "is a caring individual and has ambitions of starting her own foundation to provide care for vulnerable children in the Philippines," according to her official profile on Miss World's website.

Parungao joined the pageant because it has been her dream since she was a child "to have a crown and to have an advocacy that will create change. I saw that Miss World will be the best avenue to be an inspiration for people to think about others and set aside personal interest."
