Wendell Ramos Shares Why he Thinks ABS-CBN is the Best Network.
Seen earlier this year in the legal drama Ipaglaban Mo, Wendell Ramos is officially introduced as a Kapamilya with his inclusion in the cast of Pasion de Amor during his solo presscon held last August 6 inside ABS-CBN.
The 36-year-old actor admitted he was overwhelmed by the warm welcome he received. “Ang sarap. Sobrang sarap. Lalo akong na-i-inspire magtrabaho kahit mabigat pero magaan ang trabaho dahil mnamahal ka ng kapamilya di ba? Sobrang happy ako. Although nag-ge-guest naman ako dito, I feel good. It's feels great na maging part ng Pasion de Amor at ng Kapamilya network. It's overwhelming kasi alam niyo na galing din ako sa ibang network. Ang nakakatuwa dito it inspires me more kasi kini-claim ka na Kapamilya.
Gagawin ko ng maayos yung trabaho ko para sa inyong lahat. Actually hindi lang ako excited, buong family ko. Buong relatives, ganun ka-big deal yung binigay sa akin na break ng ABS-CBN. Actually pag tinatanong ako lagi na lang ako masaya and read for work,” he shared.
In Pasion de Amor, Wendell plays the role of Gabriel, the illegitimate son of Teresa Loyzaga and half-brother to the Elizondo sisters played by Arci Munoz, Ellen Adarna and Coleen Garcia. “Ume-ere na kami. Ako si Gabriel, na isa sa magiging pasakit sa magkakapatid on both sides, with the girls and the boys,” he said.
Wendell also emphasized there was no conflict in transferring networks when he accepted his latest project. “At that time wala na akong commitment. So it’s a good blessing. Wala na rin akong contract sa ibang network so nag-usap kami ni boss Perry, tinitingnan namin yung mga nag-offer so siyempre nagkaroon dito sa ABS-CBN (ng offer) so it's a privilege and an opportunity na kunin ito. Parang nagkasabay lang, nag-offer din and at the same time yun yung hinihintay din namin an at the same time gusto ko rinmag-work dito sa Kapamilya.”
Admittedly, the actor said becoming a Kapamilya was not a tough decision for him to make. “I said of course. Not for anything but it's a good network, sabihin nating best network. So wala namang ibang questions asked. Para sa akin, 'Sige, let's do it! Let's face it.' Sa dami dami ng artista na mahuhusay, na qualified para dito sa Pasion de Amor or sa mga nagiging shows ng ABS-CBN eh para ma-consider ako, eh napakalaking bagay na,” he related.
During the press conference, Wendell couldn't help but admit that he considered ABS-CBN as the best network in the country today. “Kasi nung galing ako ng GMA, no offense meant ha kasi galing ako sa GMA, they're a good station din. Nag-number 1 siguro ngayon (ABS-CBN). Kung may mali ako sorry pero nung umasok ako dito sa Pasion de Amor, nung nagbigay ng mga teaser, dumami yung social media. Lahat ng mga friends ko from the different countries sabi, 'Pare andiyan ka pala!' so para sa akin naramdaman ko lang. I'm not saying this dahil andito na ako. Hindi ko naman kailangan yun. Sabi ko nga lahat kaibigan ko, GMA and TV5 pero let's face it hindi di ba? So bago ako magsabi, bago ko bitawan yung mga salita na yun, buma-base lang ako sa na-experience ko. So dumami yung mga nag-text sa akin, eh dati nag-po-post din ako dati sa Bubble Gang before pero nung nandito ako sa Pasion de Amor, ABS-CBN logo lang, dumami na. Athough ang dami kong kabigan sa GMA and TV5 ah. My own opinion lang yun. So para sa akin yun yun kaya sinabi ko na the best station,” he explained.
The new Kapamilya hunk says he is not afraid and take back his words because he is basing it on his own personal experience. But he does not want his former network to take offense as well. “Hindi naman kasi naging best network din naman sila eh.Tulad ng bina-base ko, may ratings ngayon na dun lang ako buma-base lagi. So far alam niyo naman na ang mga ratings ng ABS-CBN ngayon nandun so ganun din before GMA may mga times na ganun din. Sabi ko nga, buma-base lang ako sa nakikita ko at na-e-experience. Kung may mali ako sorry po, wala naman akong intention.”
