News5 Chief Luchi Cruz-Valdes named Broadcaster of the Year.

TV5 has once again proven its mettle in the news and information front as its very own News5 head, Luchi Cruz-Valdes, bagged the prestigious Ka Doroy Broadcaster of the Year Award at the recently held 23rd Golden Dove Awards of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP).

A recipient of top local and international awards in her illustrious career as a broadcast journalist, Cruz-Valdes also took home the Best Newscaster award for TV5’s primetime newscast “Aksyon”.

On top of Cruz Valdes’ win as Ka Doroy Broadcaster of the Year (her second time to be conferred the honor as she also received the said top award in the KBP Golden Dove Awards of 2001), TV5 also won the awards for Best Newscast for its late evening newscast “Aksyon Tonite”, Best Documentary Program for “Yaman ng Bayan: Lupa”, Best Special Program for “Diskargado”, Best Actor for Comedy Program for Ogie Alcasid, and Best Public Service Program Host for its resident legal analyst and radio host Atty. Mel Sta. Maria.
